The Novo Astro is located 30km East of Juruena and covers over 15km2 containing many Garimpeiro workings from the 1980s, several of which are still being actively mined today.
Historic sampling combined with the Garimpiero workings suggest there is potentially significant gold at Novo Astro. Meteoric commenced an initial sampling program in mid-2019 in and around the open pits.
Immediate drill targets were identified under the historic workings and as such, Meteoric commenced a 21-hole diamond drilling program (for 2,500m) in October 2019 and announced that visible gold had been intersected in the first drill hole. Two rigs are currently on site to fast track exploration at the exciting Novo Astro Project.
Following a recent Placement of $7m, Meteoric is now fully funded to move into the 2020 field program at Novo Astro which will include 3,000m of diamond drilling testing under known Artisanal open cast mines and 20,000m of percussion/air core drilling to define the scale of the mineralised system outside historical mining areas.
